Poem: Journey in Haiku

Pointing to the East
Cascading mountains behind
Towards new places

Passing the black hills
And monuments built in stone
Into the green plains

Rolling waves of grain
Roll by the tired passengers
Waiting to arrive

Finally at home
Or the place that soon will be
Once it’s made their own
