The Person Behind the Art
Who am I?
I have some ideas, but my thoughts about myself don’t matter much.
What matters is how each person I encounter perceives me.
Given that, I’ll provide some things to set expectations.
I’m a cis-gendered male who lives in the Pacific Northwest. With those words, you’ve probably identified me as a liberal, which wouldn’t be incorrect. Being a counselor and a social advocate has formed my social identity; by observing how the world impacts people and can cause such suffering, I haven’t been able to stand unmoved. I consider myself an ally.
This is probably more than you wanted to know, but if you’re visiting a page about me, you must at least be curious.
What does this mean about me as an artist? I don’t claim to bring any deeper meaning to my art than what is projected on it by those observing it. If you find some secret meaning to the human condition or the universe, please let me know. I’m always happy to engage in discussions about what something means, even if I didn’t intend it as such. I always appreciate a new perspective as I think it makes me better.
Anything I missed or that you feel like you need to know to build a better idea of me for yourself?
