The road out here is so flat
You can smell the ocean breeze
Blowing across the Texas expanse
In this wide open stretch of earth
With windows down and radio up

Poem: Epic Road Trip
Clouds shaded pink
As the dawning eye of the sun
Glares at them not ready
To fully light the world
With his own half shut eyes
He checks his bags one last time
All the necessities
Clothes snacks and Sartre
Traveling companions on the journey
Poem: Leaving the Circus
I’m the one one who twirls
To stumble down to the ground
At your feet in ballerina shoes
Where you dance circles around me
With perfectly choreographed grace
Poem: Backroads Approach to Life
I live life like that teenager
Driving on backroads
Just drunk enough not to care
Where the road will take us
Just buzzed enough to have faith
That it’ll all work out in the end
Poem: Forever and Ever It Goes On
To the west lies the sun.
To the east lies the past.
To the north lies the cold.
And south lies the unknown.
We have found an end.
What we found is not the end.
Poem: Muerte Las Vegas
Here is sin personified
You can smell it in the air
Coaxing you in with its sweet
Tantalizing bouquet of fragrance
You can hear its seductive call
An androgynous voice subtle
Poem: Howl for Alan Ginsberg
I have seen my countrymen draped in flags howling in screeching voices echoing talking heads
without a shadow of original thought
holding with arms their arms that have no arms to hold them back rolling in surplus ammo and
decommissioned military gear for their childhood cosplay fantasies
screams about the disenfranchisement of the hetero white male oppressed my women with dicks
wrapped in a rainbow of skin colors protesting about lives that matter
Poem: Route 66
There is peace on these American roads
Stretches of no man’s land
Where there used to be family farms
Before the banks foreclosed
And the family moved to California
To join the Joads in chasing the dream
Poem: Journey in Haiku
Pointing to the East
Cascading mountains behind
Towards new places
Passing the black hills
And monuments built in stone
Into the green plains
