The night bursts into a thousand embers Each flying to heaven and then falling like stars Filled with potential to ignite the world We’re here dancing in the storm like demons In the tempest of hell on edge of the true inferno Burning with the smell of oak and hickory smoke Embracing our bodies pressed close Exchanging hot kisses on sweltering lips That would rival the bonfire spiraling towards the sky With red orange fingers snapping in time To the rhythm of shadows stretching towards infinity Where a truce between light and dark is formed With promises to not stop until it smolders And nothing remains but cinders as proof Of the intensity that was ignited here

It’s spring and I’ve been particularly inspired by fires and being outside.
