Poem: Disturbed Snow

Another Monday morning
Coffee is on and poured
Hot and black
A contrast to the cold and white
Falling softly in sheets
Covering both grass and earth
And concrete in equal measure
Erasing the barrier between
Wild and imposed order

Watching it from the warm comfort
Behind clear glass
Like a caged animal my thoughts turn wild
I want to pull on boots
To run out doors taking stomping steps
Destroying the undisturbed covering
Disrupting the balance
Until it is as disturbed as me
