We consider ourselves modern humans
Disconnected from our backwards ways
Having left all of our superstitions behind
As we chant together ancient incantations

Poem: Wishing for a White Christmas
I only remember one white Christmas
And being so excited Santa brought snow
It’s one of those few recollections
When you believe Christmas magic is real
Poem: Christmases Past
It’s that time of year to bring out old boxes
Filled with trinkets of years past
Locked away after each Christmas
To try and save their magic for another year
That they still possess inside their fragile frames
Poem: Seven Blessings
We have been blessed with a family
That has lifted us up so high
Giving us a chance taste sweet waters
Of victory from those who came before
Poem: Snowflake
She said I’m your gift to you
I held out my hands to hold hers
And she withdrew them twirling away
I’m a snowflake she said
Poem: Christmas Rondeau
The winter season is here
Dark and cold and white
Where the wind bites
The travelers this time of year
Poem: Silence of Winter
I walk in the silence of woods
That only snow can bring
When all creatures are slumbering
Warm in their homes
And those who are pad lightly
Their sounds not trespassing
Poem: Winter Blanket
Snow falls in sheets
Absorbing all the sounds
Not that a word is exchanged
Between either of us
As we sit in the cold holding hands
Poem: Blizzard
a single snowflake
does not alone change weather
flurries make the storm
turning relentless blizzard
changing the entire landscape
Poem: Reflections in the Window
There’s a great many things changing
As the weather grows colder
In the PNW it grows wetter
With great stretching grey days
That seem to reach towards forever
