Walking down the old pier at sunset
In the shadows of twilight I see
Ghosts sitting at the waters edge
Toes dipped into water cool for May
The heat of summer still months off
Still they linger with toes going numb
Talking and laughing over cups of coffee
Hoping the caffeine will keep them going
Until the earth eclipses the moon

Poem: Flowing Waters of Love
She moves like water
Flowing forward fearlessly
Falling gracefully
Waiting for me to catch her
In my arms shaped by her love
Poem: Old Roads
The road ended
So we abandoned the car
Walking down dirt roads
Under the canopy of trees
We exchanged smoke
Between stories of the past
Looking back I’m not sure
Who was trying to impress who

Poem: Bottled Recollections
Tossing beer cans into the canal
Not worrying about the consequences
As young and reckless as we were
Watching the water rush by
Talking about our adventures
Women who we had been with
Times we should have died
Since we last talked
Poem: Paradise Cove
A ring of light circles us
As we tread water
In this place you visited once
In a dream where we moved
Silent through the waves
