How do you capture a smell or vision in words

Poem: Comfortable
We kicked our feet on swings
That protested more than we did
As they kept the motion perpetually
While we were running out of energy
An almost imperceptible drifting
Out of synch and in different directions
Poem: The Wishing Hour

Poem: Anyone But Me
Some days I want to be
Anybody other than me
I want to pull on a mask
With a big grinning smile
Hiding away from a world
That I can barely stand
Poem: Starry Eyed Night
A girl with stars in her eyes
The embodiment of a wish
With promises in her lips
Makes me want to stay
Aimless satellite in her orbit
Where she has me spinning
Poem: Early Morning with Unanswered Questions
The silence of the wet street

Our sneakers make as we walk
Following the stars away

The stars of a million dreams
Stretching to the four corners
Outward to infinity where we are
Spinning around without moving
Poem: Epic Road Trip
Clouds shaded pink
As the dawning eye of the sun
Glares at them not ready
To fully light the world
With his own half shut eyes
He checks his bags one last time
All the necessities
Clothes snacks and Sartre
Traveling companions on the journey
Poem: An Aside of a Falling Star
oh to be a shooting star in her sky
streaking across the dark tapestry
illuminating the heavens
even as I am falling
Poem: Girl of the Tilt-a-Whirl
She’s the girl of the tilt-a-whirl
Who smells like cotton candy
With gleaming neon in her eyes
She’s the laughter of roller coasters
