Thinking back on the good old days
Reminds me they weren’t all good
We never lived life like we should
And the days all just fade away

Poem: Present
I always said you were a present
And like a pretty gift wrapped box
You never know what’s inside
When you open up to the outside
Poem: Winter Blanket
Snow falls in sheets
Absorbing all the sounds
Not that a word is exchanged
Between either of us
As we sit in the cold holding hands
Poem: Loneliness is the Killer (of my Heart)
Like the sand in the hour glass
She waits collapsed at bottom
Waiting for her turn
To start over again
Poem: Weathering Rock
Her heart once soft and beating
Over time petrified
From lack of being held
Hardening to the world
Until it was a rock to the outside
Poem: Abstract Song
Sitting in the bed she watches
Him move naked across the room
Smile on her lips and buzzing in her head
She picks up her blue guitar and strums
A melody coming before the words
Poem: Adrift pt. 2
The current of life carrying us
Moved along hidden paths
Driven by unseen obstacles
That we try to navigate
Poem: Adrift pt. 1
The stone skips smoothly
Across the rivers surface
It’s changing as it’s changing
As we’re changing
Poem: One to Ten
One thing always stands out
Too sharply in the early morning
Three AM and I’m thinking again
For the love that we had back then
Five more minutes of punishment
Poem: Waiting for the Dam to Break
Seconds pass between breaths
When it seems frozen in eyes
Reflecting like mirrors back
At me showing me all my lies
That are never spoken read
On silent lips that whisper
