Out in the Midwest at night
Looking heavenward you can see
Nearly every observable star
Stretching an out spread hand
To the sky my fingers can bridge
Galaxies that are unfathomable

Poem: Empty Streets and an Empty Room
Her smell lingers like a ghost
on blankets strewn across the couch.
Out the window that is frosting
from the cold outside compared
to the warmth inside, and beyond
I see the street is empty.
She has moved on.
Poem: A Bird Alone Optimistic
Feather wings spread wide
Filled with gusts of air
Soaring high outside
In the blue skies fair
He sings his sweet tune
To an unseen mate
Hoping soon she’ll swoon
And love will be fate
Poem: Touch
Here it flutters
Then withdrawn
Not noticing
The absence
Until gone
Poem: Wishing Stars
I should have kissed you that night
When we were laying under a blanket of night
Watching for falling stars to wish on
I saw only one and I made my wish
And I wondered if you wished it too
