She swears by the moon

Poem: Twilight Hues
the dark purple hues
of an oncoming twilight
changes leaves colors
from bright yellow red orange
to darker shades in the eve

Hand to chest where I can feel
The rhythmic beating of a heart
That still pumps and beats and
Lives inside my body even when
My chest feels empty and my heart

The heart is a miracle
It is the only body part
The can be crushed
Ripped completely apart
And still be more than

The weather is changing
Like things always are
Changing
In ways that we want
And in ways that we don’t
We can’t control
