Poem: Snowflake

She said I’m your gift to you
I held out my hands to hold hers
And she withdrew them twirling away
I’m a snowflake she said
As she danced before we
A blizzard of color and scarves
You can’t hold me or I’ll melt away
Enjoy me while I’m here with you
Because once it gets too hot
I’ll disappear again
