Poem: Green and Red

She’s dressed up in green and red
Fitting the scene just right
With candy cane stockings
And a mistletoe hairpin
She could be naughty or nice
It’s the season for the unknown
So I let her wrap me in ribbons
Of her arms as she moves us
Gracefully as ice skaters across the floor
The lights on the tree swirl
Into a rainbow of colors dancing
With hours of carols flying by
Until with hear a distinctive ho ho ho
And know we’ve been caught out
Not in our beds where we should be
Santa is not leaving gifts this year
So I guess I’ve just got you and me
