Poem: Christmas Rondeau

The winter season is here
Dark and cold and white
Where the wind bites
The travelers this time of year
Traversing to hold loved ones near
Under the cheer of Christmas lights
That sparkle illuminating home

We will all raise a glass in cheer
As we raise our voices in the night
Celebrating this eve all that is right
When we keep close those we hold dear
That sparkle illuminating home

This week’s experimental poem is a rondeau with an ABBAABc ABBAc rhyming scheme (and a refrain in the last line). You can read more about this poetry form by clicking here.
