Poem: Winter Warmth

the breeze carries smells
winter ready to blossom
in cold whiteness of new snow
freeze hearts unready
for the coming storm
blushing red cheeks burn
hotly with deeply felt love
standing firm against flakes
falling beautiful softly

A chōka (5-7-7-5-7-5-7-7-7 syllables) for Tanka Tuesday over at Wordcraft: Prose and Poetry.
