Poem: Disappearing Girl

There’s footsteps in an empty hallway
Laughter in abandoned rooms
A hidden smile that is invisible
All belonging to the disappearing girl

Who used to dance in the hall
Chattering on and on about her day
Before falling into clean sheets
Only to disappear into dreams

It’s the memories that still haunt me
Your ghost crying upon the stairs
Angry words that set fire everywhere
Burning until like smoke you disappear

Your invisible touch still lingers
Whispered words hang in the air
A presence pronounced in absence
Exists here for my disappearing girl
