Poem: Weather Girl

When it’s cold outside and
The rain is falling in sheets
Grey and colorless as I feel
On the inside I think about
Marie in her blue sundress
Black curls bouncing as she
Laughs in the rain not letting
A little water ruin her day
She’s a girl who brings her
Own weather she is the
Shining sun even when it is
Gloomy outside brightening
Every place touched by her
Smile still warms me now
After all these years basking
In the glow of her even though
She’s not here any longer she
Still brings warmth into my heart
