Poem: Before this Moment

Before this moment I lived with a palette of grays
All the shades of monochrome differentiated
Lights and darks instead of vibrance and saturation

In the moment you walked into the room color burst
Flooding my life with pigments as I never imagined
A sharp contrast to the monochrome I had lived

From this moment forward I couldn’t go back
With a desperate need of your rainbow existence
Filling the canvas of my life in full spectrum

Inspired by a prompt from Go Dog Go Cafe, with the instructions being to start a poem with the line “before this moment.”

      1. I see that… lots of creativity seems to be flowing through you all at once. Looks like you’ve found your muse. I’ll have to follow your rainbow and see if I can find mine. 🙂

      1. Love it! A fellow poet read a beautiful poem about crayon colors at the last poetry slam I read at. I wish I had a copy of it to share with you. I recently purchased a book called, The Emotion Thesaurus by Ackerman and Puglisi. You might want to check it out. Not that you need it given your background and writing abilities.
