Poem: Drifting

Like so many strangers
We pass by unrecognized
Forgetting the other
Who shares our bed
Laying silently sleeping
With no more dreams
Just the passing of time
Between suns and moons
Almost as distantly
As those heavenly bodies
Orbiting each silently
Occasionally crossing paths
Darkening the light of the other
Before moving on
In separate directions again
