Poem: Trespass

Hands held in silence
Where words could not tread
Speaking volumes in the dark
Distance between our fingers
Held tightly as our lips
Against the things we wanted
To say to each other
Though knowing better
Than to break the treaties
That held us as neutral parties
To borders that we wanted to cross
