Poem: Serious Talk

She’s got that need to talk look
Though her red lipstick and done up eyes
Are communicating something else
When she says she wants to talk
About needs while my mind wants
To talk about wants
Those things of desire
So impractical
They’re practically unmentionable
I wonder about her unmentionables
Under that LBD she’s wearing
And she wants to be serious
Seriously I can’t focus 
On her words
When I’m watching her nervous habit
Of licking her lips
That would stop if I bit them
Calling her attention
To her own wants
Our mutual want
Of communication without words
Where there is serious discussion
On achieving to our mutual ends
